KAJIAN KELAYAKAN FINANSIAL USAHATANI JAGUNG DI KABUPATEN BELU

Abstract

Maize is a main food for farmers communities in East Nusa Tenggara, especially Belu Regency. Maize cultivation is still limited to the fulfillment of farmer householdsneed  and not fully commercial yet to be cultivated by farmers. The study aims to examine: (1) The amount of cost and revenue in maize farming in Belu Regency (2) R/C ratio in maize farming. The research used survey method by taking the case on maize commodity in Belu Regency. The sampling technique was conducted by purposive sampling for the sample area and the sample of the farmers. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Maize farming is analyzed by cost, revenue and R / C analysis. The results showed that maize farming in Belu Regency has ledto commercial farming with partnership pattern that farmers only preparing the land, while other needs like seed, fertilizer and medicine are provided by partner companies. All maize crops are purchased by partners. R/C obtained for 1.60 indicates that maize cultivation in Belu Regency is profitable to be commercialized.
