MODEL SISTEM TANAM BENIH LANGSUNG (TABELA) DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS PADI DAN PENDAPATAN PETANI

Abstract


The state of food in a country can become unstable if the need and supply of food is not balanced. This is the reason why the cultivation of rice plants continues to be maintained despite various obstacles, from upstream to downstream is always there. Rice crops are a major concern in the cultivation of food crops, given that rice is still the main staple food for most Indonesians. Meanwhile, national rice production still relies on rice production. Direct seed planting system (tabela) is one of the techniques applied to increase rice productivity, while suppressing some obstacles in rice cultivation such as increased land conversion, lack of manpower and decreased soil fertility. This study aims to determine the productivity of rice grown by using the system of direct seeding and its effects on farmers' income. This research lasted for 3 (three) months (September-November 2017) by taking the research subject of wetland area using direct seeding system on rice cultivation area of 1 hectare, in Plumbon Village, District Mojolaban, Sukoharjo Regency. The research methodology used is the on farm research study through direct technology of seed planting system. The variables observed were plant height, number of tiller per hill, dry harvested grain, dry milled grain, cost incurred, and income received by farmers. Variable observation results were analyzed statistically by One Way Anova test. The results showed that the system of planting tabela significantly influenced in increasing rich productivity by 15% and increasing farmer income by 23.3% compared to conventional farming system (transplanting plant)
